    abstract

Understanding and predicting climate change has been the global attention focal point of the Earth Observation System.Because of the long time greenhouse gas emission, global warming is inevitable. In the next period,if the global average temperature rise 1-4centigrade,the Greenland ice sheet and perhaps the West Antarctic ice sheet will present at least partial retreat. This will result in a sea level rise of 4-6meters or even more.At that time, the North Atlantic meridional overturning circulation's massive and persistent changes will lead to incessant and significant global climate changes.Presently global Earth Observation System has already basically formed. The Earth Observation System has the basic performance including multi-level remote sensing data collection, data analysis and processing, remote sensing data synthetical application capacity, and so on.Based on this, processing and analysis technology of the Earth Observation System information is growing more and more practical.Nowadays the Earth Observation System mainly concentrates on the forecast to the local area short time climate condition,in the future it should concentrate to long time and wide range scope climate predictions. It is important to emphasize the following points.1)With the emphasis on macro and micro combination ,global climate change predictions based on the Earth Observation System information mining should base a long-term cooperation on various type observation features fusion.2)With the emphasis on global view of climate change, more importance should be attached to the interaction of different regions, and to the resulting mutual impact between different regions.3)Presently micro-forecasting models of local areas have been nearly excellent. In the future, much more attention should be paid to global integrated climate forecasting. So the international cooperation between meteorology scientists and other field scientists should be promoted.Simultaneously, mutual cooperation between different countries should also be paid more importance to.
