    abstract

    An analytical method of determining three-dimensional planetocentric launch conditions for interplanetary transfers is presented. Several classical methods of solution to the two-point boundary value problem are mentioned; however, a variation of the classical approach is used to determine the heliocentric transfer. The method presented utilizes an iteration of the true anomaly, primarily because definite limits are imposed upon initial estimates of the true anomaly. The method is not only well suited to the special case considered but is also easily adapted to highspeed computing machinery.
