    abstract

From a dynamic point of view, a spacecraft can be considered as a second-order system, having three rotational degress of freedom and three translational degrees of freedom. The functional requirements of the navigation system is to measure the dynamic constraints, or boundary values, in order to determine the present and anticipated future response of the spacecraft. The functional requirement of the guidance system is to utilize the navigation data in order to provide the necessary corrective action to the spacecraft dynamics required to meet the mission objectives.
