On May 25, 1961, President Kennedy announced that the United States intended to land a man on the Moon in this decade. At the time this presented a tremendous challenge to the medical group within the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The goal has been achieved by a systematic, step by step advance. Today’s report will cover the last series of steps, i.e. the five manned Apollo flights starting with Apollo 7 in October 1968 and ending with the lunar landing of Apollo 11 in July 1969
