    abstract

Scientific reasons calling for a concept of ESC, Electrostatic Cleanliness, are given and problems mainly on the material sector connected with even a partial solution are discussed. HELIOS is cited as one of the very rare examples where ESC was attempted to be realized by use of a conductively coated surfaces the chosen concept and the utilized materials as well as the qualification program and the qualification problems are discussed in detail.
