This present paper deals with future astronomy satellites in the U.S. program, primarily the International Ultraviolet Explorer, the Solar Maximum Mission, the High Energy Astronomy Observatory, and the Large Space Telescope. It will examine the status of present-day technology as it applies to future astronomy satellites, especially the Large Space Telescope.
