Using Microwave Integrated Circuit (MIC) construction, an onboard l4/4GHz Mixer-IF Amplifier has been developed which provides an overall noise figure of less than 6.5dB and a conversion gain of more than 31.0dB, over the 500MHz bandwidth of the up-link frequency, 14GHz. In addition, by employing MIC, the dimensions and weight of the 1V4GHz Mixer - IF Amplifier were reduced substantially from those of units constructed by waveguide and coaxial circuits.
