This report is dedicated to description of some unknown aspects of preparation of first live organism’s orbital flight onboard second artificial satellite of Earth on November 1957. The history of decision making and planning of this unexampled research and technical program, preparation of the satellite equipment and training of dogs, experience obtained during solving of some technical and methodological problems and description of flight events were shown.
