"See and Learn" a New educational DVD from SPFC'2004

The “See and Learn” project for the Student Parabolic Flight Campaign 2004 of the European Space Agency (ESA), proposed by the Space Teachers team, from University of The Basque Country, wanted to create a new educational tool, a DVD, with this objectives; A)Prepare a multimedia product in order to explain the essential differences between the gravity and microgravity environment. B)The scientific level of this multimedia material must be illustrative for primary and secondary school students as well for a general population into a science divulgation TV performs. C)To Show arguments that allow to citizens understand the economic effort in the space research. D)We will show this project in the next “Physics On Stage” Festival of the ESA, by M.J. Tello , our endorsing teacher. The material that we have record into microgravity are a very simple but very illustrative physics experiments, like Three different masses, two liquids, magnetism and another kind of fundamental physics laws to show what happened with and without microgravity, to explain to general people and to children, what are the differences between gravity and microgravity environment and why we spend a lot of money in investigation on space. We think that this presentation will be a good opportunity to expand this useful tool around the world, and to make contacts to distribute this useful educational tool to the space related topics community. We will tray to distribute copies of this DVD in this congress to promote this educational tool. In this presentation, we will present the parabolic flight campaign for students of the ESA, and we will talk about this great experience and good opportunity to make research in microgravity by students, and the opportunity of develop all the project, from the beginning to the final stage.
